We recently held a research and development week for our new show, Paris. The project explores the world surrounding the character of Paris in Romeo and Juliet, and serves as a starting point for our wider exploration of Shakespeare’s Lost Characters.

During the process, we investigated Shakespeare’s lesser-seen characters and stories, placing them in contemporary settings to explore how their performances and narratives might evolve.

The week-long R&D brought together six actors, allowing us to collaboratively devise, test ideas, and develop the foundations of the piece. The process was a great success and has provided a strong starting point for the work.

We are now in the script development stage and will be moving into casting and production in the coming months.
